Salon Spa Questions Answered
- Should I arrive early for my reservation?
New guests and spa guests should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled reservation.
- I can’t make it to my appointment. Should I call to cancel?
We respectfully request a 24-hour cancellation notice so that we may accommodate other guests who may be waiting for a cancellation. We request a 72-hour cancellation notice for all group or special event reservations.
- Should I make a reservation now?
Many of our service providers have an incredible demand on their time, some can be booked for two to three months in advance. For your convenience and to ensure you get the time, day and service provider that is best for you, we highly recommend you make another reservation before leaving the salon. If that is not possible, we suggest making a reservation at your earliest convenience.
- Is a reservation required for service?
Walk-in clients are welcome at all times. However, you may have to wait for an open reservation. Please relax with a complimentary beverage in our lounge area during your wait.
- Do I need to bring anything with me for my visit to the salon or spa?
Our spa rooms are equipped with towels, robes, slippers and disposable undergarments for your convenience. For salon services, we provide sanitary disposable slippers for pedicures and request you remove your top and wear a chemical service gown. If you choose not to change we cannot be responsible for stained or damaged clothing.
- Do you call to confirm my reservation?
As a courtesy, we attempt to confirm all reservations at least two days in advance by phone or e-mail. In order to serve you better, please make sure our support staff has your current contact information and preference of contact method.
- Can I bring my children to the salon or spa?
We love children and are happy to serve them at all ages. We even have a special area where they can watch a DVD, do their home work, take a nap, etc… For your child’s safety and in order for us to maintain a relaxing salon environment children will not be permitted to wander around the salon or spa unattended.
- Is it alright to try different service providers for a fresh perspective?
We are a team of professionals. All of our Artists hope you will feel comfortable to experiment and work with other members of our team. Please do not hesitate to ask!
- What should I wear for a massage or body treatment?
Most guests choose not to wear anything during their massage or body treatment. Our service providers will drape you with towels so that you never feel exposed. However, the choice is yours. Wearing an undergarment is perfectly appropriate, if it makes you feel more comfortable.
- What types of wax does Calvetti & Company use?
We use three different types of wax for our clients:
- Honey Wax– derives from trees and is good for thin
hair & non-sensitive type skin.
- Cream Wax – is a low melting temperature wax that is used
for sensitive skin types with coarse hair.
- Hard/Cold Wax – is used for Brazilian waxes and sensitive
areas on the face & underarms.
- What is the difference between all of your bikini waxes?
The main difference in the bikini waxes is the amount
of hair that is removed during the waxing.-
Swimsuit Line Bikini – only about 2 inches is removed on the bikini area.
- High Bikini Line – about 4 inches of hair is removed
on both sides of the bikini area.
- Brazilian Bikini – all of the hair is removed from top to bottom.
- Australian Bikini – all of the hair in the bikini area is completely removed.
- How long does your hair have to be to get waxed?
The hair should be at least ¼” so that the wax can adhere to it. Hair that is excessively long should be trimmed before waxing.
- Can I bring a picture of the hairstyle I want?
We encourage you to bring any ideas you have for a style, color or eyebrow shape. It helps us to understand what you are trying to achieve. Occasionally, the particular style you have selected may not suit the shape of your face or will demand a lot of product and effort to achieve the particular look. If that is the case, we may show you elements of the style that you like that work for you and help you pick something that better fits your lifestyle.
- Can I get just a trim or do I have to get a whole haircut?
A trim is a haircut. It involves the same amount of skill and technique to take ½ inch off and blend it as it does to cut 6 inches. You are paying for the stylist talent and professional time. Whether you are growing your hair out or not, It is important that you trim your hair every 4-8 weeks depending upon the length and style. The ends get damaged and start to fray and look ragged without appropriate care. A regular haircut (or trim) keeps hair at it’s healthiest and promotes luxuriant growth.
- What if I don’t want my hair blown dry?
If you are a new guest or make a dramatic style change, we request you allow our artists to finish your hair. This allows them to see the finished style and make any necessary detail changes to your look. If you are a repeat guest, we call a haircut with no blow dry a “beach cut”. That tells us you are not doing anything special after your service and don’t need to have it styled.
- Do you offer acrylic nail services at Calvetti & Company?
In addition to natural nail services, about 25% of our nail business is done in acrylics. Our nail artists are extremely talented and specialize in forever French nails.
- What is a forever French nail?
Forever French is for those of you that love the French manicure look and do not want to worry about polish. A forever French nail is applied with a pink and white acrylic which gives the look of a natural French manicure and then it’s buffed to a brilliant shine. If you would like to wear another color, no problem, our artists will apply the polish color of your choice and when you are ready they will remove the polish leaving you with the same clean look of a beautiful French manicure. Maintenance of the forever French is very similar to regular acrylics. You come to Calvetti & Company twice a month and one visit you get a regular fill and the other visit you get a back fill.
- What is a back fill?
A back fill is when the smile line “the white area on the tip of the nail” grows out and needs to be filled in addition to filling around the cuticle area. Due to the additional skill and work required, there is a slightly higher fee for this service.
- What about gratuities?
A gratuity is ultimately your choice and should reflect how happy you were with the service. Should you choose to leave a gratuity, 10 % to 20% is common and greatly appreciated by all team members and owners alike.
- Do you provide parking? Are there parking lots by your locations?
We have two parking areas for our guests. There is a small parking area located directly to the East of the main entrance as well as, a very large parking area located directly south of the building in the center of the boulevard. This large parking lot has handicap designated parking areas.

- Can I apply my gift card to another service?
Yes, you can. Please keep in mind, often times the person who gave you the certificate would like you to experience a service you would not normally treat yourself to.
- Can I give my gift card to a friend and/or family member?
Yes you can. The person must have the original gift card with them at the time of service.
- I have some Calvetti & Company credit left on my gift certificate; can
I use that towards my tip to my service provider?
Yes, you can.
- What is your policy on lost gift cards?
If the gift card is less than one year old, we should be able to find it in our system provided you know who purchased the card. If it is more than one year old we may not be able to verify the original sale, therefore the card will be void.
- Do you offer lunch or catering?
We offer complimentary light refreshments consisting of coffee, tea, soda, water or wine. We also have a wonderful Peruvian restaurant located in our building which we highly recommend their food and services.
- Do you provide space for events or private parties?
Yes we are able to accommodate most weddings, anniversaries or special events. We recommend reserving the salon as far in advance as possible in order for us to accommodate all of your needs. Please contact us or our support staff for assistance and availability so that we can make your next event a huge success. A non-refundable 50% deposit will be required at the time of the reservation.
- What payment methods do you accept?
We gladly accept cash, check, debit cards, Visa or MasterCard.
- What is your internet privacy policy?
We utilize your e-mail address only with your permission and only to inform you of special promotions and events. We will never sell or give your information away.
- What is your cancellation policy?
We request a 24 hour cancellation notice for all individual reservations and a 72 hour notice for any groups or special events. Habitual no shows will not be permitted to schedule in advance and may be charged for the service.
- Can I return a product?
We hope you love everything that you purchase from Calvetti & Company! Should you not be satisfied with a product, we proudly offer a 100% guarantee for store credit on any Redken, Pureology, or Dermalogica item, returned within 60 days. Exclusions: Miniature items, cosmetics, OPI, styling tools or brushes. *All accepted returns must have more than half of the original product remaining.
- How can I get updates of your special promotions?
We ALWAYS have special promotions for our loyal guests. Just contact us and we will be sure you receive all of our special e-mail blasts alerting you to fantastic savings on products and services.
